Monaco - Montecarlo

During my last trip between Italy and France we made a stop in Monaco. This micro-state is so intereasting since it has so many different things in such small space. Nothing is really missing here: from an old town, to department stores, parks, skyscratchers and so on...

This is the well-known casino of Montecarlo (I didn't go in and play ;-) )

Since I was there in May, there was already work and preparation for the Monaco GP.
The track basically go through all the city

And this is the old town of Montecarlo, that one is the Palace where the Grimaldi family lives.

The old town is very cosy and picturesque. It is in a hill on the west part of the Principality from which you can see the whole territory.

In the old town there is the Cathedral where the members of Grimaldi family are buried.

Among the other tombs there is Grace Kelly's tomb where fresh flowers are never missing. Posted by Picasa

Eze is an old fortified village near Nice,
just few kilometers away from the city (you can
go there by bus).

It is an incredible beautiful fairytail village, very well preserved and with an incredible view of the sea!

A must-see if you're going to Nice!

Nice

Nice is such beautiful and enjoyable city!
On this picture I am in the famous "Promenade des l'Anlgais" along the beach of Nice.

In the beginning of may the weather was very nice and there were already many turists. You can enjoy restaurants, bars, incredibly good sweets and a very happy atmosphere.

Below is a picture taken from a park in the hill where the old castle was.

Besides the beaches and the promenade,
the old town and the markets are really intereasting.
Many shops, flowers, restaurants and souvenirs are there.

The surrounding of Nice are also very nice and beautiful. Cannes and Antibes are the famous cities nearby. But also the inland is incredibly beautiful. Posted by Picasa

Torino

I was in Torino in May visiting my friend Elisa
with Kumiko.

Torino (Turin) was the first capital of Italy and it is one of the most beautiful city in the north of the country. In the picture on the left is Piazza Castello, the white building is the old Royal Palace where the king was living.

This is the "Mole Antoneliana" which was the biggest synagoge in Italy (I think now it is just a museum). It is really huge and from its top it is possible to see the whole city. Torino is very beautiful and elegant city and from many places in the city it is possible to see the Alps. Indeed the Apls are very close and it is possible to reach them in within one hour by car.

And this is an Abisenth pub near Piazza San Carlo It is very cool place and the people there are very cool and friendly. They have lot of types of Abisenth from many different countries.
